What does unlimited mean?
You can create, edit and approve as many product Updates and connected-channel drafts as a real product team needs. Destinations are not metered, and neither is publishing to LinkedIn, Bluesky or Mastodon. Automatic X publishing is the single exception: it uses a monthly allowance and then prepaid credit, because each confirmed post carries a direct provider cost. Fair-use and anti-abuse safeguards protect service reliability; they are not a routine shipping quota.
Why are there two plans?
Scope, not shipping volume. Developer watches one GitHub repository. Team removes that cap for every repository in the workspace, sends customer email from your own domain, and includes 50 automatic X posts a month instead of 10.
What is billed separately?
Every price on this page is in USD and excludes VAT and sales tax; Polar Software, Inc., our merchant of record, calculates and charges them at checkout. Any subscription or API fee billed directly by a connected provider also stays separate from the Mergelay plan. Mergelay never creates an automatic overage charge: X credit is bought in advance, in packs of $10, $25 or $50, and nothing is ever charged automatically.
How does social publishing work?
Mergelay publishes to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. Every post is written from the merged change, adapted to each network’s length, and published only after you approve it — nothing is ever posted automatically. The link to the change is added only for public repositories. LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon publishing is included under fair use on both plans and never draws on X credit. Instagram, Facebook and Threads are not supported.
What does publishing on X cost?
Developer includes 10 automatic X posts a month and Team 50. Beyond the allowance, each post costs 30 cents of prepaid credit, counted and debited only when X confirms the post; a failed or unconfirmed attempt costs nothing, and Mergelay never retries an unconfirmed post — check the X account before publishing again. Packs of $10, $25 or $50 never expire and are never recharged automatically. With no allowance and no credit left, the approved post is simply held: add credit, wait for next month’s allowance, or open it in X and publish it yourself for free. Your other destinations publish either way.
When does billing begin?
Your first prepared Update is included as a one-time demonstration, so you see the real output on your own repository before paying. Billing begins only after you confirm the plan, billing interval, renewal terms and total at checkout. Mergelay does not currently offer a permanent free plan or trial.
